Christopher Speed, MND APD. Chris is an engaging spokesperson and presenter on a variety of nutrition, culinary, lifestyle and behavioral issues for which he has been widely quoted in the US media. He is a dietitian with experience as a food and nutrition strategist who has successfully represented food brands and industry sectors through accountable and results oriented initiatives. Chris is persuasive at communicating to media outlets, health professionals and key prospects on nutrition and health issues and is experienced at targeting, accessing and maintaining food/beverage business. He is published on the fundamentals of the Mediterranean diet and writes science based marketing pieces for the food industry. His enthusiasm to support the food industry was fostered as a Masters graduate of Nutrition at the University of Sydney and in Metabolic Biochemistry from the Australian National University. Currently, Chris has continued his academic interests in nutrition, lifestyle and human health as an associate editor of the European Journal of Cancer Prevention. Chris is regularly sought after to provide keynote presentations, influential education sessions and written materials to a highly discriminating and varied audience. He serves as an expert reviewer to corporations, food companies and medical institutions, and is praised for his ability to translate the complexities of nutritional science into the powerful and familiar language of food. He came to realize the relevance of nutrition among the changing food industry landscape after founding a series of weight loss, cardiovascular disease and cancer outpatient clinics in Australia. This inspired him to consult closely with the retail industry on reformulation and marketing strategies that would best incorporate evidence based nutritional science. Chris assists public relations and marketing teams with up-to-date nutrition and lifestyle concepts that could be used for strategic and competitive advantage. He revels in joining forces to contribute to success, is enthusiastic about professional and personal development and is also an avid wine, food and classical guitar enthusiast.
